Abstract: Fabrication of barium titanate (BT)-barium magnesium niobate (BMN) ceramics was carried out, corresponding to the formula (1-x)BT+xBMN, where x varies form 0.01 to 0.06. The mixed-oxide synthetic route was employed. The sintering temperature was varied from 1300 °C to 1450 °C. It was found that higher value of x results in higher sintering temperature. Phase evolution of the ceramics was studied by the X-ray diffraction (XRD) technique. The ferroelectric phase was found to occur at the low doping values of x, (x = 0.01-0.03). Transformation of ferroelectric to paraelectric phase occurred when x = 0.02. The highest dielectric constant was found at x = 0.02. In addition to reducing the sintering temperature of the particular ceramics, sintering flux such as Bi2O3 /LiCO3 -PbO was employed to mix with the samples. The results showed that the sintering temperature could be reduced down to 1000 °C with the exceptional high dielectric constants.
