Abstract:

Two dematiaceous hyphomycetous taxa were isolated during the study of fungal diversity associated with decaying wood in Guizhou province, China. Based on morphology and DNA sequence (combined data set of ITS and LSU sequences) analyses (Maximum likelihood and Bayesian Inference), a novel species is introduced as Fuscosporella xingyiensis sp. nov. One taxon is confi rmed as Sporoschisma chiangraiense, a new record from China. Both obtained fungal species are compared with the known species and their description and illustration are provided.
