Abstract: This work deals with the fabrication of the aluminium metal matrix composite (AMMC) reinforced with titanium material and stir casting process is employed for the fabrication of the aluminum metal matrix composite. The process parameters considered in this work are squeeze pressure, squeeze time, die preheating temperature and stirring speed. L9 orthogonal array is used to conduct the experiments and the AMMC is tested for its compressive strength, tensile strength and hardness. A novel optimization tool, Technique For Order Of Preference By Similarity To Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) is used to rank the optimal process parameters. |
