Abstract: Barium titanate powders produced from wet chemical routes such as Catecholate, nitrate and sol-gel were pressed into pellets and sintered at 1,3500C for 3 hours to high density. Using a combination of room temperature X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), the effect of sintering temperature on the phase assemblage and microstructure of barium titanate ceramics were examined. It can be seen that the grain size increases with increasing sintering temperature. The dielectric properties of the ceramics were investigated by fixed frequency measurements of dielectric constant and dielectric loss as a function of temperature.
