Abstract: The addition of TiC particles to Al foams transforms the foaming behaviour and results in an increase in the compressive strength and energy absorption. The good wetting of the particles is likely to improve the dispersion of the particles, resulting in a decrease in the rate of drainage, and strengthen the Plateau borders and cell walls.
