Abstract: Performing an information extraction directly on Thai natural language text often yields an inadequate result since it may have an ambiguous structure. For this reason, many information extraction systems attempt to analyze and organize the text into some kind of structured forms before the information can be searched. This paper introduces a set of Context-Free Grammar rules for the Thai language that are designed based on Phrase Structure Grammar where the surface structure of the input text can be analyzed and organized into group of phrases.
