Abstract
A three-component Mannich-type reaction of aromatic aldehydes, aromatic amines, and ketones was catalyzed by a novel task-specific ionic liquid, 4-(3-sulfopropyl) morpholinium hydrogen sulfate ([C3SO3Hnhm]HSO4) at room temperature to give various β-amino carbonyl compounds in good yields. The products could simply be separated from catalyst/ethanol, and the catalytic system could be recycled and reused for six times without noticeably decreasing catalytic activity.
