Abstract:
Complete series solutions of the Schrdinger equation for a general power-cum-centrifugal potential have been obtained. In particular, meson spectra for heavy mesons like Ψ and ϒ for the S and P states have been calculated. Spin-dependent corrections for the charmonium and the bottomonium states 12s+1 PJ for the potential considered in this paper with power λ = 1 have also been evaluated. Motivated by the success of our results obtained for these two heavy mesons, our main contribution in this paper is the prediction of the spectra of the toponium ( t t ) meson. Though the exact value of its constituent top quark t has already appeared in the literature, the experimental observation of this state is yet to be reported. Hence, it will be interesting to watch the evolution of this meson and then to compare our calculated values with the experimental data for this system.
