Abstract: Adsorptions of some transition metal ions e.g. copper(II), chromium(III) and silver(I) complexed with triethylenediamine on activated carbon were studied by light absorption measurement. The adsorption behavior of these complexes were found to follow Langmuir isotherm with maximum amounts of complex adsorbed on activated carbon obtained from Langmuir equation were about 1.4 mmol/g, 0.71 mmol/g and 18 m mol/g, respectively. The temperature dependence of adsorption was also studied and found that their adsorptions were exothermic processes with heats of adsorption of about 0.71, 0.53 and 3.3 kJ/mol, respectively.
