Introducing the Journal
The Chiang Mai Journal of Science started out in 1974 as the Journal of the Science Faculty of Chiang Mai University. The name changed to the Chiang Mai Journal of Science in 2000. At the same time, the Journal changed from publishing papers in either English or Thai to English only. After consistent all-round improvements in the quality of its production, the Journal was internationally recognized with the award its first Journal Citation Reports (JCR) Impact Factor (2010) in June 2011.
Nowadays, the Journal is published in open access electronic format only 6 times a year in January, March, May, July, September and November. Apart from its regular issues, special issues for conferences or in areas of topical interest can also be published by prior arrangement but are limited to not more than 2 per year. by the Faculty of Science, Chiang Mai University
Manuscripts in most mainstream areas of science are welcomed except where they overlap into areas such as agriculture, engineering and medical science which are outside the scope of the Journal. Currently, we focus especially on biology, chemistry, physics, materials science and environmental science. Papers in mathematics are also included but should be of an applied nature rather than purely theoretical.
